Himachal Pradesh has opened the Shipki La pass, a motorable mountain pass at 3,930 metres in the tribal Kinnaur region, to domestic tourists.

The pass connects the Kinnaur district in Himachal Pradesh, India, and the Ngari Prefecture in Tibet, China. The pass, along with Nathu La in Sikkim and Lipulekh in Uttarakhand, serves as one of India's border crossings with Tibet. The pass is close to the town of Khab.
The opening of Shipki La to tourists is part of a larger plan to boost economic growth in Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti, which share a 240-kilometer border with China.
