About JANANI Platform
Objectives
Lifecycle Approach: Maintain longitudinal (lifetime) digital health records of women during their reproductive age.
Continuity of Care: Tracking of maternal and child health services spanning antenatal care, delivery preparedness, institutional delivery, postnatal care, newborn care, and family planning.
Mortality Reduction: Reduce both maternal and child mortality rates.
Key Features
QR-Enabled MCH Cards: Portable digital cards provide easy, pan-India access to Mother and Child Health records.
Automated Tracking & Alerts: Smart tracking enables automated high-risk pregnancy alerts, due-date reminders, and real-time supervisory dashboards.
Interoperability: Integrates with other national health platforms like U-WIN (immunization network) and POSHAN Abhiyaan (nutrition mission) for cross-sectoral tracking.
Multiple Registration Modes & Self-Registration: Beneficiaries are registered using unique identifiers like ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account), Aadhaar (OTP/biometrics), and mobile numbers.
Pan-India Search: Ensures care continuity for migratory groups across states and prevents duplicate record creation.
Significance
Role of Frontline Workers: Grassroots healthcare workers such as ASHAs, ANMs (Auxiliary Nurse Midwives), Anganwadi workers, and hospital staff will be the primary agents implementing and updating these records.
Data-Driven Decision Making: JANANI acts as a single source of truth for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCH) data, helping policymakers make evidence-based interventions.
