INDRAYANI RIVER

The Indrayani River starts in Kurvande hamlet, near Lonavla, a hill station in Maharashtra's Sahyadri mountains.   It is a rain-fed river that flows east past the Hindu pilgrimage sites of Dehu and Alandi before meeting the Bhima river.

Context

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) recently tore down 36 illegal houses in Chikhali's River Villa project, which were built inside the blue flood line of the Indrayani River. 

Location

The Indrayani River starts in the town of Kurvande, which is close to the hill station of Lonavla in the Sahyadri mountains in Maharashtra, India.

In addition to being a tributary of the Krishna River, it is also a tributary of the Bhima River.
