Ovarian Reserve: Female animals are born with a finite reservoir of egg cells (oocytes), known as the ovarian reserve.
Unlike sperm, these vital egg cells cannot be replaced.
Declining factors: Oxidative damage, inflammation, and general cellular wear all contribute to the normal fall of egg number and quality over time, which worsens with age.
