• Drass is a hill station in the Kargil district of the union territory of Ladakh.
• It is on the NH 1 between Zoji La pass and Kargil town.
• Drass is "The Second Coldest Inhabited Place in the World" and Coldest place in India where temperatures can drop to less than -40°C.
• It is often called "The Gateway to Ladakh".
