The Ministry of Coal launched C-CARES Version 2.0, to streamline Provident Fund and pension processes for coal workers.
C-CARES, which stands for Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation (CMPFO) Computerisation of Accounts and Records Electronic System, is a web portal for managing the social security funds of coal mine workers.
The newly launched Version 2.0 is an upgraded platform designed to be more efficient, transparent, and user-friendly.
The portal has been developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), a research and development organization under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
Unified Digital Platform => C-CARES 2.0 brings coal workers, their employers (coal companies), and the CMPFO onto a single, integrated online platform. This integration eliminates information silos and speeds up communication and processes.
Efficient and Transparent Processing => The system facilitates the online submission of claims and allows for real-time tracking of their status. This transparency empowers workers by giving them visibility into the entire process, from application to settlement.
Automated and Faster Settlements => The platform automates processes like ledger updates and enables direct benefit transfers (DBT) of provident fund and pension amounts directly into the bank accounts of the workers.
