The Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development launched the high-capacity SAKSHAM-3000.
It is an advanced networking device designed to be the backbone of modern, high-speed digital networks.
Core Function => SAKSHAM-3000 functions as a switch-cum-router; acts like a traffic controller for massive amounts of digital data, directing it efficiently across networks.
High Capacity => It has a throughput of 25.6 Terabits per second (Tbps). 1 Terabit is equivalent to 1,000 Gigabits. This enormous capacity allows it to handle vast volumes of data simultaneously, which make it suitable for demanding modern applications.
Developer => The Development of Telematics (C-DOT), an autonomous telecom R&D center under the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, has indigenously developed SAKSHAM-3000. This highlights India's commitment to self-reliance in critical technologies.
AtmaNirbhar Bharat in Telecom => This indigenous development is a concrete step towards achieving the 'AtmaNirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India) goal in the critical telecommunications sector. It reduces dependence on foreign vendors for crucial network infrastructure.
Powering Next-Gen Networks => SAKSHAM-3000 provides the necessary horsepower for India's ambitious rollout of 5G and future 6G networks, enabling faster and more reliable connectivity for citizens and industries.
Support for Digital Economy => With robust data center infrastructure, India can better support its burgeoning digital economy, including cloud services, e-commerce, digital payments, and AI-driven applications.
Enhanced National Security => Owning and controlling the technology behind critical communication networks enhances national security, mitigating risks associated with supply chain vulnerabilities and foreign surveillance.
Global Competitiveness => By developing world-class telecom products, India positions itself to compete with global leaders like Nokia, Ericsson, and Huawei, to become an exporter of advanced networking solutions.
