Air pollution led to 12,000 deaths in city

Details:

  • A report released by Greenpeace Southeast Asia has estimated that Bengaluru, which fared better than Delhi and Mumbai, recorded an estimated 12,000 avoidable deaths owing to PM 2.5 pollution.
  • Among the six cities featured in the analysis, Bengaluru is worse off when compared with Chennai, Hyderabad, and Lucknow.
