Context

The Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre (ISLRTC) organized Purple Fest 2025 in New Delhi.

What is Purple Fest 2025?

It is a two-day festival, to promote the message that disability is not a weakness, assistive devices are not charity, and respect is a fundamental right.

Organizers: Hosted by ISLRTC, in partnership with Amity University, Noida.

Key Themes: Inclusion, awareness of assistive devices, normal behavior towards Divyangjan, and professional development in rehabilitation.

What is Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre (ISLRTC)?

It is an autonomous organization under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Established in 2011, to promote Indian Sign Language (ISL) by developing skilled manpower, providing training, and conducting research.
