NITI Aayog Meeting (May 24, 2025)

The PM chaired the 10th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

The meeting focused on the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, aiming to make India a developed nation by 2047, its 100th year of independence.

The theme “Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat@2047”, encouraged states to create their own long-term development plans aligned with national priorities but based on local needs.

PM Modi’s Key Messages

  • Accelerate Development: “We must increase the speed of progress. No goal is impossible if we work together.” He called for making every state, city, town, and village developed to achieve Viksit Bharat before 2047.
  • State Vision Documents: States must craft bold, inclusive plans with intermediate timelines (e.g., 2030, 2035) to track progress toward 2047.
  • Operation Sindoor as Inspiration: Modi mentioned India’s successful 2019 military operation against terrorist camps in Pakistan, highlighting public support and unity. He urged states to make Viksit Bharat a “people’s movement” with similar resolve.
  • Boost Exports and Tourism: States should use Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) to increase exports and develop at least one world-class tourist destination per state.
  • Reform Laws: Scrap outdated laws to create investor-friendly environments.
