Context: Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people of Israel on the festival of Chag Hanukkah Sameach. 

Details:  

• Hanukkah is also known as Chanukah is a Jewish festival commemorating the recovery of Jerusalem and subsequent rededication of the Second Temple at the beginning of the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire in the 2nd century BCE.
• According to the Jewish religious calendar, Hanukkah begins on the 25th day of the month of Kislev and continues until the second day of the month of Teslev — a date known as Zos Chanukah that is particularly holy.
