• India’s first national coalition platform for urban nature-based solutions (NbS) was launched at the 11th World Urban Forum in Poland.
• It was launched by the;
  • National Institute of Urban Affairs.
  • Climate Centre for Cities.
  • World Resources Institute India.
• Ecosystem-based services and Nature-Based Solutions are the sustainable and cost-effective ways to address climate change-related challenges such as heat, urban flooding, air and water pollution and storm surges.
• It will help in mitigating the impact of climate change.
• It will provide multiple ecosystem benefits while addressing various socio-economic challenges.
• It will build the resilience of vulnerable communities.
• It will bring investment and will strengthen the delivery mechanisms through multi-stakeholder cooperation.
• Mainstreaming urban ecosystem-based services and nature-based solutions in India through informing policy, plans and project interventions
