The Union Education Minister recently mandated that states must follow Samagra Shiksha norms to secure central funding, emphasizing uniform implementation of the scheme.
It is a comprehensive, integrated scheme for school education covering pre-school to class XII.
Launched in 2018, it merged three older schemes: Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), and Teacher Education (TE).
Core Objective: To ensure inclusive and equitable quality education at all levels, in line with the Sustainable Development Goal for Education (SDG-4).
Financial Outlay: A total financial outlay of ₹2.94 lakh crore has been approved for the period from 2021-22 to 2025-26, with a central share of ₹1.85 lakh crore. (Source: PIB)
