About:
- The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions has organized the “Nari Samagam & Spardha”; Women Sports Meet in New Delhi on 11th January 2023.
- Olympian and CWG Medalist Vinesh Phogat (Wrestler) interacted with women athletes.
- Vinesh Phogat is the first Indian woman wrestler to win gold in both Commonwealth and Asian Games.
- She is the only Indian woman wrestler to win multiple medals at the World Wrestling Championships.
- Objectives
- To increase awareness and to enhance women's participation in sports and cultural activities.
- To adopt healthier lifestyles and increase self-esteem, teamwork and confidence.
- To improve social skills and positive mental health.
